A small court with a big pull

Padel is played in doubles on a court about a third the size of a tennis court, with glass walls that keep the ball in play. It's easy to learn and very social, which is why more and more clubs in India are adding it.

For clubs and investors, that means more games on less land. For builders, hotels and schools, it's an amenity people actually use. And because the court is a steel-and-glass structure, the base, levels and drainage have to be right from day one.

Padel court size and the space you need

The court is 20 × 10 m (66 × 33 ft), closed in by glass and mesh walls. You need a little room around the structure and plenty of height above it.

Court (inside the walls)

20 × 10 m (66 × 33 ft)

Space to plan for

At least 21 × 11 m (69 × 36 ft), including the structure and a walkway

Service line

6.95 m from the net (3 m from the back wall)

Net height

0.88 m at the centre, 0.92 m at the posts

Back walls

4 m high: 3 m of glass with 1 m of mesh on top

Side walls

Glass near the back, mesh along the rest

Clear height (indoor courts)

6 m minimum, 8 m recommended

Playing surface

Artificial turf with sand infill

Based on FIP (International Padel Federation) regulations.

What the court is made of

Tempered glass

Strong safety glass walls. The ball bounces off them and stays in play.

Steel structure

A powder-coated steel frame that holds the glass and mesh. Built to last and stay straight.

Welded mesh

Strong steel mesh that keeps the ball in and adds protection.

Padel turf

Artificial turf that gives a steady bounce, good grip and comfort underfoot.

Padel net

A regulation net, 0.88 m high at the centre and 0.92 m at the posts.

LED lighting

Sports LED lights that light the whole court evenly.

Types of padel courts we build

Standard

Glass walls held by steel posts at the corners. The most common choice for clubs.

Panoramic

Glass held without corner posts, for a clear view of the game. Popular where spectators or filming matter.

Indoor

Inside a hall or under a roof, for play in any weather. Needs at least 6 m of clear height.

Outdoor

On an open plot with LED floodlights and good drainage, so the court dries quickly after rain.

How a padel court is built, layer by layer

A padel court is a steel-and-glass structure sitting on a concrete slab. If the slab isn't level, strong and sloped for drainage, the frame and glass will never sit right. So the base gets as much care as the court.

Around the court: steel frame · tempered glass walls · mesh panels · LED lighting · net and posts · access doors

Line marking

Artificial turf with sand infill

Base slab (PCC or RCC)

Sub-base (WMM)

Excavation and compaction

Natural ground

Padel court turf options

Texturised turf

Curled fibres that hold the sand in place. Steady bounce and good grip; a common choice for clubs.

Monofilament turf

Straight fibres for a faster, more even game. Often used on competition courts.

Sand infill

Silica sand brushed into the turf gives the right grip and lets players slide. It's topped up as part of regular care.

After going through the older reviews here, I felt it was important to share my own experience. I recently worked with Decospaa Interiors, and while no company is perfect, I found their communication structured and their process transparent. Every concern I raised during the project was addressed through proper follow-ups. My experience did not reflect the extreme issues mentioned in older reviews, and I believe the company has improved its systems over the years. I must also mention that the owner has been exceptionally kind — always available to take my calls and address even the smallest concerns on a priority basis. From the initial discussion to the final handover, the entire process felt transparent and well-structured. Bella Mutha's calm and pleasant communication made things easy to understand. The team delivered quality work and showed full responsibility for every detail. A very smooth experience overall Thank you so much, and I look forward to working with you on multiple upcoming projects.

am genuinely satisfied with the quality of work delivered by Decospaa Interiors. They shared samples beforehand, explained the technicalities clearly, and maintained consistency in what was promised versus delivered. The finishing and material standards matched the commitments made during the initial meetings. The team also revisited the site whenever required and ensured everything was completed to my expectations. A reliable and well-coordinated experience overall.

Their professional team, led by Renissa Mutha, truly stands out in the world of interior design. From the initial consultation to the final touches, their commitment to quality was evident every step of the way. It gave me peace of mind knowing that only the best materials were used in my home. The trendy, luxurious designs they provided were not only stylish but also made optimal use of the available space, which was a priority for me. Padel court FAQs

How much space do I need for a padel court?

The court is 20 × 10 m. Plan for at least 21 × 11 m including the structure and a walkway. Indoors, you need at least 6 m of clear height; 8 m is better.

How much does a padel court cost in India?

It depends on the number of courts, standard or panoramic glass, indoor or outdoor, your ground and the lighting. Send us your location, space and a few photos, or book a free site visit, and we'll give you an estimate.

Do you build to FIP standards?

Yes. We build padel courts to FIP-approved standards for court size, wall heights, lines and net height.

What's the difference between a standard and a panoramic court?

A standard court has steel posts at the corners holding the glass. A panoramic court holds the glass without those posts, so spectators get a clearer view.

Can a padel court be built indoors?

Yes. You need at least 6 m of clear height above the court (8 m is better) and enough floor space for the structure.

Can you build on an existing concrete slab?

Often, yes. If the slab is level, strong and drains well, we can fix the frame to it and lay the turf. We check this on the site visit.

What maintenance does a padel court need?

Brush the turf regularly and top up the sand, keep the glass clean, and check the drains and frame fixings from time to time.

Do you build padel courts in Pune?

Yes. Our head office is in Pune, so we can visit your site, check the space, levels and drainage, and suggest the right court. We build padel courts for clubs, housing societies, schools, hotels and resorts in Pune and across India. The site visit is free.

Do you work outside Pune?

Yes. Our head office is in Pune, and we build courts across India.

Do you only do part of the job?

We can do the whole job, from the slab to the frame, glass, turf, lights and net. If you only need part of it, we can do that too.
